LEAP YEAR POSTING- OIL PAINTING BY UNKNOWN ARTIST
29 FEBRUARY 2012 POSTING FOR SALE DECENT OFFERS CONSIDERED
I feel that I should add a posting today as 29th Feb only happens once every 4 years, so today is indeed a special day.
To those who celebrate their birthdays today ,enjoy it cos your next bday is a long 4 year's wait.!
Readers who are observant would see that my posting today is listed 28th 2012??
I assure u that I am typing on the 29th Feb 2012, I seems to lose one day on my blog.. check settings?
So my posting for this year's leap year is a lovely oil painting which I acquired quite recently.
The artist is unknown maybe signed " yadi " at bottom left hand corner.
The painting is not dated but it is believed to be pre ww2. Dimensions are 300mm x 300mm drawn on canvas.
I have 3 others pre ww2 'Malayan Themed " paintings which I hope to list eventually.
I am not an artist but the dealer described the painting as expertly drawn and I am in agreement ( I bought it .. ).
I am into collecting old malayan memorabilia nowadays, old postcards , old photos, old paintings , old anything..
Would I sell it ? Generally everything on this blog is for sale but those who are serious enough can contact me with their offers and will be considered.

YTM TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN PUTRA'S LETTER
FOR SALE : DECENT OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED
Today is a great honour for me to share with readers a letter written by our first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra ALHaj.
This letter in pristine condition is written to a Miss D.Monreal an officer of Commonwealth Relations Office London on 14th August 1967 thanking her for assistance and services rendered during the Tunku's trip to London.
It is obvious that the letter just shows how gracious the Tunku is.He is definitely a gentlemen of the old school and I am really honored to be the keeper of this precious document.
Also shown is the envelope used that is part of this historical postal set. Even the envelope is personally handwritten by the Tunku himself and not typed by his secretaries.I'm sure all Malaysian is pleased that this set is back on our shores.

my oldest collectable piece " FOSSILS"
FOR SALE NEGOTIABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED
This is surely the oldest piece of collectable in my possession. These are fossilized remains of sea creatures millions/ thosands of years old.
Fossils are evidence of ancient life preserved in sedimentary rocks. On Earth, they are clues to what living things, ecosystems, and environments were like in the past. The oldest fossils are from mats of blue-green algae that lived over three billion years ago. The youngest fossils are from animals that lived before the beginning of recorded history, 10,000 years ago.
For me it beyond my capability to identify the species of the above specimen. The could well be extinct or ancestors of our present day shrimps. But the details is quite amazing.
This is one of my best bargains ever. I actually this fossils from a peddlar selling under a tree at next to nothing cost.
If there are experts out there, I would appreciate if I can get better info as to the geologic period / rarity etc.
I think the shrimp generally would be rarer as it is soft skin unlike the seashell which hard skinned which is more conducive for fossilization process.

MY OLD CAMERA
FOR SALE NEGOTIABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED
This post is to record on cyber world my old Yashica B TLR camera.
Yashica b is introduced circa 1959 and that is older than me! This B model is quite rare compared to other Yashica ranges of TLR cameras.
A twin-lens reflex camera (TLR) is a type of camera with two objective lenses of the same focal length. One of the lenses is the photographic objective or "taking lens" (the lens that takes the picture), while the other is used for the viewfinder system, which is usually viewed from above at waist .level.
The description above is quoted from wiki, I'm not at expert camera user, normally I just point and shoot..
Anyway this camera use 120mm roll and they are not easy to get nowadays. As far as I can made out , everything works, shutter clicks, focus okay ,autotimer okay . I took a snap from above to show the viewfinder looking in on my garden.
My teenager son ask me "how many USB port this old camera have? " ......
Once I cannot get the leather casing back on after taking it off, luckily my friend manage to slid it back with no trouble..
I really would try to make an effort to acquire a roll of 120 film and see if it can work properly. I think b/w photos are really cool, will post once it's done.
